not dead yet…getting better!

I got an email from a friend asking if I was okay because I hadn’t posted a status change on Facebook and I haven’t posted here for a bit either. A year ago this week I had started at my day job and they introduced things to me slowly, in manageable bites. Thank goodness, because if they had thrown me in full speed that we’re running at right now I might have run screaming.

I was just about caught up to what I missed by being out of the office for vacation with the Bald One when it was time to ramp up to get things off the list before I ran off with Ms. Elanova. Where’d we go? a wee little town called Gordonsville, Virginia. And we had a blast.

Our time together included such fun as horseback riding, going to a luau, checking out a winery and hiking Montpelier while getting caught up and munching fo-hos. It was great to get away, and I was back to only ten voicemail messages and about fifty emails. The emails were flipped through and mostly managed by lunch while the voicemails were dealt with after lunch. Granted, everything isn’t done yet, but it’s in the right spot and should be dealt with by the end of the week. I might actually be completely caught up with summer and ready for the next insanity by the time everyone is back next week.

Other than that, its a quiet week. Halfway through, and next week we’ve got a full five days followed by a three day weekend. Labor day hails the end of summer, and the beginning of a bit of insanity – harvest, roll out, Life is So Good, accounting year end and Night Before Christmas Carol. Hard to believe 4Q 2008 is here.

  1. Thanks for the thumbs up on your trip to Gordonsville. Didn’t know if you stayed with friends, a B & B, or Shenandoah Crossing, but glad you enjoyed the surrounding attractions.

Good luck with finding Theatre production work. We have a great community theatre here – just finished their 36th season with Shakespeare’s – “As you Like it”.

  2. Oh, I finally clicked on the link to your pictures of Shenandoah Crossing. Figured that’s where you stayed.
