Witch Work: Week of March 5 ~Joining with the Sacred ~

As some of you know, on the Gate there’s a start at trying to do “homework” of a sort geared towards gettig us more in tune with ritual & such. Our loverly Draganima is leading the effort there. I’m posting them here…because…well, it’s slightly different, more reflective, and allows me to find them later. Plus, for those of you who aren’t on the board but are interested you get to see this kinda stuff. Below is a direct repost from the Gate

Do you have one? What is on/in it? How long has it been since you looked at it?

This week let’s give our altars a fresh look. For some of us, that may mean actually making an altar or sacred space. Remember, it doesn’t have to be huge and out for everyone to see if that isn’t what you want. It can be as simple as a few things on a windowsill or night table. You may want an actual Wiccan altar, or your altar/sacred space can contain items that have meaning for you and make you feel connected to the Goddess (or Spirit, or Universe…etc).
If you have one…give it a good cleaning. Dust it off, smudge it if you feel you need to. Dust the articles that are on it. Light some incense as you do this, to put you in the mood. Jazz up your altar/sacred space with something different, if you have things on there that have been there a little too long. Time for something new.

You can take as long as you want for this, but if you are pressed for time, just take 15 mins. It won’t take long…and you will feel a connection again. 🙂 Blessings for your altars/sacred space this week.


Mine, for the record, is a bookcase in our kitchen. Yes….the kitchen. It used to be by the door, but I decided it made more sense in our kitchen…being a kitchen witch (mostly) and all. Plus, there’s a great east facing window in that room. And it helps me remember (some days) to take a few minutes and slow down. Usually during breakfast.I probably should spend more time with it…but I don’t have the time. Frustrating…but that’s why I’m doing this exercise.
